For the past few months, Dutch Eliyiah (Philip Kroep) has been working on a musical rise which has been definitively confirmed by the announcement of his new EP ‘Shadow’ by his management.
Eliyiah is a singer/rapper who has made many musical contributions for various artists in recent years and has now decided to shift his focus to his own musical success.
Thanks to his passion for music and previous contributions for other artists combined with the fact that announcements have been made with other international hit producers, makes Eliyiah a very promising artist.
From Discover Media, we reached out to his management and had the exclusive opportunity to ask some questions to Eliyiah:
Tell us about yourself?
I’m 24 and I like to make songs on a regular basis to relax and express my feelings. It is a very nice bonus that I can inspire other people with this sometimes as well.
What is your production/writing process?
I work a lot with other regular international producers that I always listen to new beats from. I really need to feel a beat to be able to put my emotion into it and am therefore very picky on the preselection of beats I use. Sometimes I don’t feel 99 out of 100 beats, but often the right one is there in the end. After that it’s often automatic and I have my flow and lyrics on paper within an hour. Unlike other artists, I don’t think too much about what I’m writing, I just start singing and hear what the next piece should be about. The best part is, at the end of the record, hearing where my subconscious has actually taken the record. Only then do I find out what I really sang about and on this basis I determine the title in consultation with my PR manager.
Can you tell us about your upcoming EP ‘Shadow’?
Sure! The EP will feature 5 records that I finally feel confident enough about after almost 10 years to actually release something myself. Previously, I’ve always stayed in my comfort zone and contributed to names that went public with that on their own. The name shadow is appropriate because I’ve always stepped into the shadows but now I’m stepping out for the first time.
What’s coming up?
Haha, to be honest I don’t dare say too much about that yet. I think I’ll first wait and see how the reactions to my EP will be and until then keep working on the music because me and my team enjoy it.
What’s the rest of the year have in store?
I will probably write more songs and seek collaborations with other artists from my
management.
Where can we hear more of your music?
